Partner Andrew Turner and Partner Martin Cornish will present a 2009 Investment Funds Tax Update from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10.
2009 has seen major changes to the UK tax treatment of invesment funds and their investors. This seminar will look at the most significant changes and their implications. In particular:
- The new Reporting Funds Rules—when should offshore funds become “reporting funds”? How would this affect their UK investors?
- The new Offshore Funds Rules—funds which were not previously offshore funds may fall within the new, expanded definition of an offshore fund—with tax implications for their investors. Which funds will fall within the new rules? Will this harm the fund and its investors?
- Should your fund move onshore? An overview of the new UK regime for Tax-Elected Funds.
- Protecting the fund from UK tax—a look at the new “white list” for “investment transactions” protected from UK tax.
